I’m so excited to share the breaking news from the World Incubation Summit …
SETsquared has once again been ranked as the World’s Top Business Incubator – Managed by a University by UBI Global. This means that we’ve now maintained our world leading position since the last time the rankings were published in 2015.
This is something for us all to be very proud of. Maintaining this world-leading position is down to the hard work and dedication of the whole ‘team SETsquared’ from across our centres, hubs and Practice Groups – and of course this top position is a reflection of the achievements of the fantastic companies that we support.
In 2017 alone, SETsquared companies from across all of our centres raised a record £218m investment. In total we supported 381 companies and a whopping 883 entrepreneur’s took part in our programmes.
UBI Global’s World Rankings are compiled from UBI’s World Benchmark Study 2017-2018, which is the world’s most extensive benchmark study of university-linked business incubators and accelerators. SETsquared was assessed alongside 1,370 programmes globally, after which 259 from 53 countries were retained for the benchmark and this is a joint top ranking alongside The DMZ, Ryerson University, Toronto.
The rankings will be published in prominent media around the world and SETsquared issued press releases nationally and in each of our regions this morning, which included a quote from our own Greg Clark, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
We will be putting together a full media pack next week but in order to help us keep spreading the word, please do share the news on your social media channels. The official hashtags are #UBIAwards18 #UBIRankings17/18.
“The SETsquared Partnership has not only helped nurture and grow British technology businesses, but it has also contributed nearly £4 billion to the UK economy which is an incredible achievement. Being recognised as one of the world’s leading business incubators is fantastic news and testament to the hard work and dedication of the team at SETsquared and the universities they work with.” Greg Clark MP, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy
